Let's Rewind

I have neglected my blog for quite some time now, and thought I would take this "free" opportunity-while the boys are snoozing- to catch everyone up on the Hardys. This Christmas will go down in the Hardy Memory book as being another wonderful time spent with family and friends. It was extra-special this year having our newest blessing in our family, Sawyer David, and watching the anticipation in John Parker's eyes as he awaited to open the presents that Santa had left. What melted my heart the most was hearing John Parker's sweet, tender voice sing, "Happy Birthday" to Jesus on Christmas morning. Can't get any better than that, right?

Speaking of sweet moments, we had another one with JP last night. As I was getting out of the shower around 9 o'clock, I heard John Parker and Jeremy giggling and carrying on in the bed. John Parker was supposed to be in his bed and fast asleep at this point, but that wasn't the case. Instead, he and his daddy were having a ball! I got in the bed with the two of them-lights out-and we just spent some quality time talking, singing, laughing, praying (JP prays for anything and everything) and tickling our little man. During this time, my mother phoned me and I was telling her that we were lying in the bed playing with John Parker. She reminded me to enjoy those moments as they will swiftly fly by. My brothers and I would do the same exact thing, even up into our teenage years. We would all pile up in our parents' bed and talk and cut-up until we just tired out completely. Needless to say, we were savoring every moment with him last night. That is one of the best things in life that money cannot buy.

Moving right along, Sawyer gave his momma the best present ever by sleeping through the night when he turned four months old over the Christmas holidays. He also went for his 4 month check-up and he weighed in at 15 pounds and measured 26 3/4 inches. (JP was 26 in. at four). For the past few nights, he has started eating a little Oatmeal cereal and it seems to agree with him thus far--he still relies on me to meet his nutritional needs. He is rolling over from back to front and front to back, very ticklish, precious little laugh and smile, and will stare at John Parker like he's the best thing ever-which he is! Jeremy and I were discussing Friday night how fortunate we were that while Sawyer has been in daycare that he hasn't gotten sick--we ate those words quickly. He started running a low-grade temp, runny nose, watery eyes, and a terrible cough on Sunday which landed us right in Dr E's (JP used to say, Dr. EAT) office this morning. He was clear from ear infections, throat, and RSV. He advised us to give him breathing treatments twice a day for two days and give him a call back on Tuesday with an update on his condition. Therefore, I'll be at home with both my boys tomorrow--which does not bother me one bit!!

As for the year 2009 there are several goals that I have set for myself. First of all, I have started working out with some of my co-workers at AES on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Robert Johnson was gracious enough to come to our school and begin the exercise program with anyone that was wanting to get back in shape. I'm ready to lose these remaing 15 pounds of baby weight before the summer arrives!!! ;) Secondly, I plan to further my education by enrolling in graduate school at Troy in August. I am ready to begin so I can mark that off of my to-do list!! Last but not least, I look forward to spending more quality time with my loved ones and my Savior.

P.S. Happy Anniversary to the Hardy's blogspot. Thanks to Beth, I started this blog in January of last year and have enjoyed connecting with those of you that I haven't seen in forever, and also taking a sneaky-peek at your precious lives! Happy 2009 to all my blogger friends!

Enjoy a few pictures from over the holidays!

Sounds like a great time with the boys. I'm so impressed that you're still breastfeeding Sawyer. That whole deal was NOT for me!! I know it's really good for them and the momma too, but I just couldn't deal, so hat's off to you!

That's great that both your boys are sleepers. You'll never know how blessed you are unless you have one that's NOT a sleeper. HA

The boys are precious as always and I do think Sawyer looks a lot like Scotty and Jason! BTW, Jason's kids are adorable and Savannah looks like you to me.

Yes, Ben's eyes are blue, but Jack does get the shape from me, but I think that's all he gets from me. Like JP and his daddy. Good thing we married good looking guys, right?

Julie your boys are precious and I wished all I had to lose was 15 lbs. I'm not so much worried about the lbs if I could just get rid of the excess flab HAHA (muffin top). I'm not as lucky as some of you girls. You all don't look like you have had babies. Anyway glad you all had a great Christmas and glad to see your update.

Loved your slideshow Julie! Tell Jeremy I was very impressed with his skateboarding skills! Sounds like we have alot of the same things going on in our household right now. We've both got 2 growing boys! They're just about the same exact size. My New Year's resolution though, is a little more than you. I've got 20 lbs. to get rid of. Oh well,

Isn't JP at the most awesome age right now? I love Madison's little personality! She keeps Jason and I laughing constantly. Hope Sawyer gets better very soon! I can only fathom how busy life is for you right now and the fact that you are trying to keep in shape and planning to further your education is inspiring! I really need to do that as well. But of course, I want to make sure I get tenure first. Hehe! Have a great 2009!

We love piling up and playing in the bed also! It is such relaxing fun! We sang Happy birthday to Jesus also and Anna thought Jesus needed a b-day cake. Well, we substituted cinnamon rolls with a candle in it. I was also asked a question that I don't know the answer to. Anna asked me how old Jesus was?
I am glad to hear you and your family had a great christmas together. Sorry to hear that Sawyer isn't feeling well. I hope it goes away and doesn't affect anyone else in the family!
Also, Happy Anniversary to the Hardy blog. The blog that got me started on this addiction! I must say it is a wonderful thing!!!

Your baby is so precious! In fact both of your babies are precious! You two have good genes that obviously mix well together. I am with you on the whole family laughing and loving together. We have now let Will move from his bedroom into ours some nights in his sleeping bag in the floor. Jeff was against it at first but he too began to realize that our baby is no longer a baby and before long he will not want to sleep anywhere in a 50 mile radius of us. I say enjoy them all you can as long as you can!!!! Happy New Year!

Loved the Christmas pics. Seeing the whole family reminded me of when we were younger, for some reason. I guess it's because I haven't seen parts of your family in forever. Just today I was thinking about when it snowed in 1993. We went to your house and played in the snow then we sat beside the fire and hung our socks around it to dry them. Wow at the memories! It sounds like your making plenty of new memories with your own family. We hope to have a kid maybe this year. We are looking forward to that phase in our life. Hope to see you soon. I love you. (BTW, I forgot to answer your last ques...we are actually going to the ASF tomorrow night. I am excited!) Phil. 1:3

How sweet those little boys are! I couldn't see the slideshow, but I'm sure your pictures were precious! We love to play with John Luke in the bed. Ofcourse we can only stand it for so long because he is SOOOOOOO rough! We say sometimes we are going to be sore from the beating! We look forward to being able to pile up together again...right now I'm terrified for John Luke to get near his daddy! He wants to so bad and I know he doesn't understand, but maybe soon they will be able to get back down on the floor and play like wild indians! We {John and I} will NEVER take those moments for granted again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
